PDF Map & Directions
Lubec is the easternmost point in the continental United States. If you can visualize the map of New York and New England as the head of a dog looking out to sea, then you can easily find Lubec, which would represent the dog's nose.
The closest airports are in Bangor, Maine and St. John, New Brunswick. Both airports are about a three-hour drive from Lubec. Lubec is about a two-hour drive north of Ellsworth, Maine (just outside Bar Harbor) and one hour drive south from the Calais, Maine/ St. Stephen, New Brunswick border crossing. If you are taking Route One, turn east at Whiting onto Route 189. It is a little over 11 miles to Lubec and the Campobello bridge. Coming from Canada, a picturesque trip is to take the Deer Island ferry from St. George, cross Deer Island to the Campobello ferry and then cross the border at the Campobello/Lubec FDR bridge.
