Description: Tours of this historic farm offer the unique opportunity to hold a chick, pet a calf, observe a pig, or taste fresh produce plucked from their organically managed fields. The Bell family will share the history of their coastal farm, founded in 1765, and now includes the ninth generation Bells. Join them as family members share their expertise in diverse agricultural endeavors: raising organic meat, milk, and produce, practicing sustainable forestry, shipping hand-crafted balsam wreaths, and offering a weekly farmhouse rental.

Recommendations: As always in coastal Maine, dress in layers to be ready for rapidly changing weather conditions.

Approximate time: 2 hours.

Fitness Level: Moderate, easy walking; may be muddy or rough, depending on the season and weather conditions.

Suggested Donation: $20 per person if there are less than 4. With 4 or more in your group (counting children between 5 and 12) the suggested donation will be $15 per person over 12 years old. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 are half price and children under the age of 5 are free.

Reservation Requirements

1. Pre-registration at least 24 hours in advance.

2. Signed form titled "Responsibility Statement, Liability Disclaimer and Permission to Photograph". Each adult must sign a form. Families living at the same address may sign on the same form. These forms will be available at the tour office. Download sample form.

3. Credit card information: When you schedule a tour by phone or e-mail, we will take your credit card number (preferably by phone) to reserve the space. If you do not show up and have not cancelled the reservation at least 24 hours before the tour, you will be charged our suggested donation amount. When you take the tour you may pay for the tour by credit card, check or cash. Your credit card will be charged the amount you would like to donate (which must be at least our suggested donation amount).

When you pay online through PayPal, if you cancel in writing or by telephone at least 24 hours before the tour, the tour fee minus 10% administrative fee will be refunded to you. There will be no refund for cancellation less than 24 hours or for no shows.

There are many risks and uncertainties inherent in any tour, including but not limited to the hazards of various modes of transportation and the forces of nature. We at Tours of Lubec and Cobscook will do all in our power to make our tours as safe and enjoyable as possible. We expect you to exercise caution in hazardous conditions. Please be advised that our boat tours are weather dependent and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Our other tours may or may not be cancelled due to rain or fog.

Call us before the tour if there is any question. If the tour will proceed, remember that these conditions may cause slippery walking. Lubec weather can be very different from that a few miles inland, and can change suddenly and unexpectedly. It is always colder on the water, so dress in layers for the boat trip.
